Scott Almquist
President
Scott is a retired private equity portfolio CEO and senior executive, having led large and diverse companies in the U.S. consumer packaged goods industry for over a 37 year career.
Dr. Doug Spence Jr.
Vice President
As a Family Physician and Hospitalist Physician, Dr. Spence has been moved by the damaging effects of the neurological brain disorder of addiction on a person’s personal health, finances and family life.
Carrie Ullery-Smith
Secretary
Carrie (she/her) is a sexual health educator with a degree in Family Studies and Public Health Education from Central Michigan University.
Adam Boelkins
Adam joined the ATS board in February of 2025, having previously served as the organization’s commercial insurance broker for a number of years.
Sarah Sullivan
Treasurer
Sarah Lee Sullivan is the founder of SBS Executive and Risk Advisory, where she supports organizations through periods of transition, stabilization, and growth.
John Murray
Liz Blume
Lis is a native of Traverse City and graphic designer with 30 years of experience. She owns and operates Blume Design, a creative shop specializing in brand development, packaging and logo design.

Bob Spence
CEO of Spence Brothers, a 5th generation, 135 year-old construction company with 275 employees. Past local Boards/etc - YMCA, City Opera House Board (current), TCLP, TC West Varsity Hockey asst coach (18 yrs) and many fundraising events.
Patrick Ellis
Patrick Ellis is a partner at Kuhn Rogers in Traverse City, where he practices real estate and business law. His work includes commercial real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other business advisory matters.
Beth Lajko
With over two decades of public service experience, Beth serves as a Drug Treatment Court Probation Officer with the 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County, where she’s held various roles since 2011.
