Local Funding Supports Expanded Addiction Recovery Care

In early 2025 Traverse City commissioners approved $100,000 in cannabis tax funds to support Addiction Treatment Services’ recovery efforts. This investment aims to extend critical recovery services including additional safe beds for individuals transitioning from higher levels of care.

ATS CEO Paula Lipinski emphasized the far-reaching impact of substance use disorder in rural communities and the importance of having safe recovery options accessible locally. The funding will help ATS expand capacity during early treatment stages, reducing the risk of relapse or return to unsafe environments while clients wait for longer-term care placement.
