Some of our services are totally or partially funded by Northern Michigan Substance Abuse Services (NMSAS). To qualify, individuals must live in one of 30 northern Michigan counties served by NMSAS and must call Central Diagnostic and Referral Services (CDRS) to set up an appointment for a telephone assessment. After the assessment is completed, the individual will be referred for treatment to an appropriate treatment facility for a period of days. This initial treatment will be funded by NMSAS. After the initial treatment period has expired and further treatment is required, the treatment facility will apply for additional funding on behalf of the individual. It is possible through this process to have most or all of treatment paid for, which is a significant benefit to the individual and society.
